Judo Club Rules, Etiquette and Health and Safety

Whilst practicing Judo you are expected to:

• Wait quietly until you invited onto the mats.
• Remove your shoes before stepping onto the mats and replace them upon leaving
• Remove all jewellery and fashion accessories before class
• Ensure your finger and toe nails are short and clean
• Maintain a high level of personal hygiene
• Long hair to be tied back with a soft band (no metal / clips)
• Ensure you are wearing the correct attire and that it is clean (Judo suit or soft clothes no zips/buttons)
• Girls must wear a white "T" shirts under their Judogi
• Bow when stepping onto and off of the mat
• Bow to your coach at the beginning and end of your class
• Bow to opponent before and after Randori (sparring)
• Show Respect for yourself, other players and your coach
• Striking is prohibited in Judo
• Work to the best of your ability
• Hold a valid British Judo Association license
• Have fun and enjoy your Judo
