Brief product description:
Aqua-Patch©
is a pre-preg, 2mm thick, high performing glass reinforced resin based matt,
protected on both sides by an impervious release film and is activated by UV
trigger. One side of the
Aqua-Patch©
is impregnated with an advanced UV triggered adhesive, which makes a
tenacious and long lasting bond with the substrate. Correctly applied,
Aqua-Patch©
becomes a watertight extension of the board’s original skin and seals off
the affected area. |

Boards Magazine
(August 2004)
Here’s something that should be in every windsurfer’s kitbag.
Aqua-Patch is a very affordable (RRP £7.50) instant cure for even quite
nasty dings in your board. The 80 x 150mm prepreg, 2mm thick, glass
reinforced resin based matt is sold in a sealed UV-proof packet. When your
board gets damaged, open the packet, cut a piece to the size required, peel
off the protective backing, slap it onto the ding - and that’s it. The epoxy
resin cures in minutes (it’s activated by the UV in sunlight, but it’ll
still work even on a cloudy day), will make the ding watertight, and best of
all, can be removed off easily at a later date to allow a proper repair to
be carried out. The packet is re-sealable, and there’s enough material within
for two or three repairs, making the unit cost per repair just a couple of
quid. |

Windsurfing Magazine
(August 2004)
The Surf Shop in Cheam has come up
with a handy kit called Aqua-Patch. It's basically a Band Aid for boards. At
just £7.50 for an 80 x 150mm size patch, that's a very cheap salvation on a
windy day and most repairs only take a patch of about a third of that.
We are taking a kit out with us on test this summer. |
